Based in Minnesota, but with roots in Tennessee, Chastity Brown grew up surrounded by country and soul music. In the full gospel church of her childhood, she played saxophone and drums and found her singing voice and a passion for music. Her first show was in Knoxville, TN, and then it was on to Minneapolis. Since then, she’s been featured on NPR’s “Favorite Sessions,” CMT, American Songwriter, the London Times, Paste Magazine and others. Chastity has toured the U.S. and abroad, appearing on the U.K.’s Later…with Jools Holland.

A respected singer/songwriter with a soulful, folk-oriented style, she had already amassed an impressive catalog by the time her fourth album, 2012’s Back-Road Highways brought her more widespread acclaim. Along with tours of the U.S. and Europe, Brown’s subsequent albums began to take on a more deeply layered sound, incorporating elements of rock and pop into releases like 2017’s Silhouette of Sirens and 2022’s powerful Sing to the Walls.

Critics have dubbed her “a banjo-playing soul-singer” and “a rocking, rolling encyclopedia of roots music.”

This event is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

• The St. Mane Theatre box office will open at 6:00 p.m. the day of the event. Tickets will also be sold in person beginning at that time.
• Each ticket purchased with a bank card will be charged an additional processing fee of $0.99. Patrons can avoid this processing fee by paying via cash or check in the Lanesboro Arts Gallery, or before the event in the St. Mane Theatre lobby.

• We will have a list of the ticket buyer names at the box office beginning at 6:30 p.m. If the buyer and their guests arrive together, no physical receipt or proof of purchase is needed to be admitted to the event–we will have a list!
• Alternatively, attendees can present a printed copy of the ticket PDF that was e-mailed to the ticket buyer or present it on a smart device.
