Description
Join Artist-in-Residence Meg Frank on Saturday, May 3rd from 10 am – 12 pm & 2 – 4 pm (one workshop time, with a lunch break) for a free art documentation workshop at the St. Mane Theatre Second Floor Studio! Learn about how to document your art and craft work and what you can do with that documentation. Meg will give a presentation about why documentation is important, how to make it less scary and overwhelming, and opportunities for artists to apply for in the morning. Participants will focus on practical work in the afternoon including photography and documentation design.
About Meg Frank
Meg Frank is a multidisciplinary artist, living and working in New York City. Originally from Minnesota, Frank has spent the last decade working to combine painting, sewing, and weaving in work that examines the psychological spaces that surround our homes, community, and dreams. Their current body of work explores how we use technology to stay connected to those we love and how that technology shapes those connections. Their art is held privately and publicly across the United States and Europe and can be found at megfrank.com.
About the Residency
For their residency in Lanesboro, Meg will create mixed media art quilts that document Lanesboro citizens and places they cherish; as well as hosting public art education classes on quilting, drawing, and painting. Once completed, the quilts would be donated to the community for display and educational use.
