Description
“Time for Women, 150 Years of Leadership" is an original play by Jane Peck about notable women and suffragists in SE Minnesota. Set in 1870-1970, viewers will witness the long struggle for women’s suffrage. Meet unusual Minnesota women: Lanesboro's first businesswomen, a woman abolitionist, a Civil war nurse, Nellie Francis- founder of our only black suffrage group, an indigenous suffragist, and Bertha Moller-MN’s only force fed suffragist. Audiences are invited to take part in a suffrage parade! The show ends with a discussion led by League of Women Voters members. Shows at 2 pm and 4 pm on Sept. 14 and 15.
