Tuesday Talk: Textiles of the World with Kim Hammer

Join Kim Hammer at the Driftless Fiber Arts Collective for an exploration of textiles from around the world! Starting at 6:30 on Tuesday, December 2nd, Kim will share about her global collection of textiles and invite folks to bring a textile of their own to share. 

From India to Bali, from Morocco to Mexico, Kim has collected hand-crafted textiles created all over the world. She will share about her global collection including its meaning and origins. Kim lives in La Crosse, where she owned a shop featuring fair trade textiles and handicrafts for 10 years, traveling each winter to lead tours and directly source products direct from artisans. Now retired, she enjoys hand stitching and botanical dyeing.

Tuesday Talks take place at the Driftless Fiber Arts Collective at 108 Coffee Street in Lanesboro, MN. Doors open at 6:00 and the talk will begin at 6:30.

Driftless Fiber Arts Collective hosts monthly Tuesday Talks, opportunities to hear from local folks about local happenings, initiatives, opportunities and more. All Tuesday talks are free and open to the public.

The Driftless Fiber Arts Collective’s purpose is to extend Lanesboro, Minnesota’s status as an Art Campus, cultivating a communal learning space and engaging creative exploration of craft, words, and games. We create with our community to enrich our connections.
