About Us
Root River Valley Cabin was built by the Amish in 2013. It is actually a two bedroom cabin with a full basement and a loft. Located three miles in the country north of Lanesboro, enjoy the covered porch while drinking a glass of wine before heading into town by car or biking. A futon in the loft and bunk beds in the basement, along with the two bedrooms make up the 8 sleeping areas.
The property backs up to the Root River bike trail. A short bike ride around the farm house takes you to the paved, scenic ride along the river. Head west to Lanesboro and Preston or east to Whalan, Peterson, Rushford and Houston.
Other activities you may enjoy are canoeing or kayaking, shopping, fishing, golf, an Amish tour, Saturday farmers market in the park and attending the Commonweal Theatre. Winter activities include snowmobiling and cross country skiing and hunting in the fall.
