The Murals of Lanesboro
The murals of Lanesboro bring color and character to the town’s streets, each one telling a unique story.
The Theatre District Mural, created by Erik Pearson with community input, celebrates Lanesboro’s cultural diversity and its two main street theaters. Installed in 2023 this newest edition to Lanesboro is a vibrant addition to our downtown landscape, inviting visitors to the north side of town.
The “Colors of Bluff Country” mural, painted on the St. Mane Theatre by GoodSpace Murals and community members, illustrates the natural beauty of the area and was designed with local students through the Surprise Sculpture program. This collaboration between Lanesboro Arts, our students and the community shows exactly what the Spirit of Lanesboro is all about.
The library mural, “Libraries Grow Community,” led by artist Luisa Luis-Grill, depicts local pastimes like tubing, biking, and fishing, all set against Lanesboro’s scenic landscape.
The Parkway Place Mural, featuring floral motifs and the Root River, was crafted by intern Kiara Hohn, who drew inspiration from the area’s natural beauty and residents’ warm support. Together, these murals celebrate Lanesboro’s artistic, natural, and cultural heritage and offer inspiring, colorful stops for locals and visitors alike.
