About Us

Halfway between Fountain and Lanesboro you'll find County 8 Pottery and the work of Ann Ohotto Thompson. Most days you can find Ann in her studio creating functional and sculptural wares, made from red earthenware clay using a slab construction method. Her work is highly textured, colorful, and finished with a black wash to give her pieces an aged look and feel.

Stop in to meet Ann, see her fun, non-traditional wares, take in the beautiful view from her studio, and maybe get a glimpse of June the Studio Assistant (one of the resident cats).

Her studio and sales shop is open by appointment. Call or text her at 507-222-9043.

About Ann
I am a potter, a gardener, and a tender of animals. I live in the country near the small town of Lanesboro in southeastern Minnesota. I work and sell my wares from my home studio.

I started working in clay over 25 years ago and I haven't looked back. I create functional and sculptural, hand-built works using slab construction with red clay that are fired in an electric kiln. I am inspired by a revolving list of things, but I am most consistently interested in old or vintage items including buildings, dishes, containers, tinware, bottles and especially aged and worn surfaces

I feel very fortunate to call Lanesboro home and equally fortunate for my lovely, quiet, little life with my husband, five cats, four goats, and one big dog.
